There is a new generation of tennis players taking over now that some of the top players, like Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal, have retired from the courts. Jabeur, who rose to No. 2 among women’s players in the world in June 2022, is one of them. She lost to Elena Rybakina in the Wimbledon final the same year.
In 2023, Jabeur appeared in the Netflix documentary series Break Point and again advanced to the Wimbledon women’s singles final. In the end, Markéta Vondrouová defeated her.

Jabeur’s tennis ups and downs have been supported by Kamoun, who also happens to be her trainer. After getting married in 2015, they started working together in 2017.

Jabeur is not the only athlete involved in the union; from 2003 until 2011, Karim Kamoun was a competitive fencer. According to GQ Middle East, he later started working as a fencing coach in Qatar before quitting his job in order to accompany his wife on tour full-time in 2017.
Kamoun posted pictures on Instagram in June 2017 at a fencing competition in Doha where he was carrying a trophy and wearing a medal.

Kamoun is now employed as a fitness trainer. He has a master’s degree in sports science, and his Instagram account describes him as “crazy about fitness training.”
The former athlete routinely shares pictures of himself exercising in the gym with inspirational messages. He wrote in the caption of a 2021 gym selfie, “Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.”

In 2015, he married Jabeur. In November 2015, Jabeur and Kamoun became husband and wife. She shared a photo from their wedding along with the statement, “Happy To announce that me and Karim just got married,” on Twitter to confirm the news. Jabeur chose a white gown with lace accents and a sparkling headband, while Kamoun sported a black tux.

According to GQ Middle East, Kamoun devotes a large portion of his profession as a fitness trainer to his wife. The change from husband and wife to trainer and trainee was not simple, though. In 2020, Jabeur told the newspaper, “He realizes that it was difficult in the beginning.
“Because we are not used to working together, when he asked me to go run, it felt a little bit like an order, and at first, I did not enjoy it. And if he threw the medicine ball incorrectly or something, I would cause a scandal over a pretty minor issue.
The tennis pro continued, “After that, we adapted to it. I believe we are performing admirably. We argued and spoke a lot, for sure, but I believe we ended up with positive outcomes.
Jabeur discussed being in lockdown with her trainer hubby in an April 2020 interview with Australian Open TV.
