Foo Fighters Honor Drummer Taylor Hawkins

After the Foo Fighters’ act on Friday night in London, frontman Dave Grohl urged the fans to roar, but not in an appropriate manner to close the performance.

Though a toxicology study indicated multiple narcotics in his system, the BBC stated that no official cause of death was given. The cause of his death has not been officially determined.

Due to the death of Hawkins, the rock band had to reschedule their planned tour dates. Thus, their show on Friday was their first in months.

Hawkins was raised in Laguna Beach, California, though he was born in Fort Worth, Texas. At the tender age of ten, he decided he wanted to pursue drumming as a career.

Since its inception in 1997, the band’s drummer has been a constant member. As a result of Hawkins’ contributions, the band achieved such success as receiving 12 Grammy Awards and having four songs at the top of the Billboard charts. The band was officially admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

With “infectious hooks, in-your-face guitar riffs, monster percussion, and endless energy,” Foo Fighters “carry the torch of rock authenticity,” the group declared.
