Biden Goes To The US Virgin Islands To Take A Break Between Vacations

On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden embarked on a trip to the United States Virgin Islands, a region that is extremely comfortable for him, in order to take advantage of the nicer weather, relax, and ring in the new year with his family.

St. Croix is one of three islands that comprise the United States territory in the Caribbean. The president of the United States and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, flew from Washington to St. Croix on Tuesday. The other two islands are referred to as St. John and St. Thomas.

They were accompanied by their daughter Ashley and her husband, Howard Krein, as well as their grandkids Natalie and Hunter, whose father was the president’s late son, Beau. The Bidens were also joined by their daughter Ashley and her husband, Howard Krein.

At the very least, Joe Biden has been using St. Croix as a vacation destination at least while he served as vice president, which lasted from 2009 through 2017. In a telephone interview, Beth Moss Mahar, an attorney who has been retired for almost three decades and who has lived on the island for nearly as long, said, “We’ve missed him the last couple of years.”

In the years 2020 and 2021, when the COVID-19 epidemic was at its height, Biden chose to celebrate the holidays at his home in Delaware. His first trip to any of the territories that make up the United States Virgin Islands will take place this week on St. Croix.

During a phone interview on Tuesday, the Democratic representative for the Virgin Islands in the United States Congress, Del. Stacey Plaskett, stated that “we are really honored.” “In the past, when he and his family have come, of course sightings of President Biden were virtually a thing of legend,” she added. “In recent years, however, sightings of President Biden have become more common.”

Any reports of sightings will now be interpreted differently due to the fact that Joe Biden is widely considered as one of the most powerful men in the world. As a result of this, he now travels with a substantially larger footprint than he did when he was the vice president. This includes a sizable number of United States Secret Service personnel, White House employees, and media covering the trip.

According to Biden’s advisers, he and his wife, Jill, like to spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day in a warmer environment, and Jill Biden enjoys going to the beach during that time.

“We always look forward to his coming and we really understand that this is a place of relaxation for him and Jill and whatever other family members he may bring with him and so we leave him alone and let him just relax,” said Donna Christensen, who was Plaskett’s predecessor in Congress. “We always look forward to his coming and we really understand that this is a place of relaxation for him and Jill and whatever other family he may bring with him and so we leave him alone and let him just

She mentioned this in a telephone chat that she had with him. “He usually says, ‘In my future life, I’m living in St. Croix,'” she stated. Both Plaskett and Christensen expressed the hope that the attention paid to where Vice President Biden spends his year-end vacation will amplify the challenges facing the United States Virgin Islands and other U.S. territories.

These challenges include threats from climate change, such as more powerful hurricanes and rising sea levels, as well as problems these governments have coping with aging infrastructure. Plaskett and Christensen both expressed their hope that the attention paid to where Biden spends his year-end vacation will ampli

The 2nd of January was originally planned to be Biden’s arrival back in Washington. That is the day before the president’s Democratic Party hands control of the House of Representatives to the Republican Party following the midterm elections in November, which may make it more difficult for Vice President Joe Biden to get his legislative agenda passed during the remaining two years of the president’s term.

In the next Congress that will begin its work on January 3, the Senate will remain under the authority of Democrats throughout.
