Young Royals Season 2 Release Date

Young Royals season 2 was announced in September 2021, but it didn’t start filming until February 2022. Netflix teased the new season with a video of Ryding and Rudberg back on the Hillerska grounds.

Netflix said on May 11 that filming was done and that everything went well. As long as they don’t add VFX aliens and stick to a six-episode format, post-production shouldn’t take too long, but they might just miss the July release date they set for the first season.

Considering this, and the fact that Netflix’s post-production process takes about six months, it seems likely that we’ll get new episodes in the fall or winter of 2022, depending on how long production takes.

Wilhelm’s plans were messed up by the leaked s*x tape, but he hasn’t been thrown into another random boarding school (yet).

This means that most of the cast from season 1 will be back, including Edvin Ryding (who played Wilhelm) and Omar Rudberg (who played Simon), Pernilla August (who played Queen Kristina of Sweden), Malte Grdinger (who played August), Frida Argento (who played Sara), and many more.

Since Prince Erik, Wilhelm’s brother, is now dead, we can be sure that Ivar Forsling will not come back. There may also be some new cast members to shake things up, but none have been named yet.

Other Members

  • Wilhelm (Edwin Riding)
  • Omar Rudberg as Simon
  • Malte Gårdinger as August
  • Frida Argento as Sara
  • Nikita Uggla as Felice
  • Pernilla August as the Swedish Queen Kristina
  • Nathalie Varli played Madison
  • Carmen Gloria Pérez as Linda

Young Royals Season 2 Plotline

After August gives out Simon and Wilhelm’s sex tape, it’s no surprise that everything starts to go down. Wilhelm has to say that it’s not him in the video because his family wants him to protect the crown. To make things even worse, Simon breaks up with Wilhelm after Wilhelm asks if they can stay together in secret. Simon tells Wilhelm that he won’t be anyone’s secret and then dumps Wilhelm.

Most likely, season 2 will focus on how the sex tape leak has affected Simon and Wilhelm’s lives in a bigger way. Even though they aren’t together right now, we don’t think that will last since it’s clear they still care about each other. But because of all the outside things that are keeping them apart, it looks like it will be a case of “will they or won’t they?”

We can also expect more drama with August and Simon’s family next season, as August starts a secret relationship with Simon’s sister, Sara. Since he is the one who leaked Simon’s sex tape, we don’t think Simon and Felice will like Sarah’s new boyfriend very much. Omar Rudberg, who plays Simon, told The ANTI Magazine that in the second season of Young Royals, the drama will go up “another level.”

He told the news outlet at the time, “I really don’t know what’s going to happen.” “But if you watch the series and think about what it will show you about the characters at the end, I think a lot is going to happen. I really hope that there will be a second season because I think it would be great. The drama is going to get crazier as it reaches a new level.”
