Upstate Fundraiser Performance By Concert King of the Philippines

A musician dubbed the “Concert King of the Philippines” for his ability to draw in huge crowds is making his first appearance in South Carolina. He is performing a fundraiser concert In Upstate.

Martin Nievera recently marked 40 years in the industry. “I’ve decided that one of my goals in life is to help others, and I’d like to begin right here in South Carolina.”

Nievera is acquainted with a group of Filipino Americans in the area who planned to host a benefit for a good cause. The Philippine American Association of the Carolinas is led by Tiffany Frialde (PAAC). Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) Foundation was founded by Couples for Christ, and Dr. Emil Sarmiento is a member of the organization.

In place of PAAC’s annual gala, which traditionally benefits multiple charities, Frialde said the group opted to perform a more low-key concert this year. Frialde said, “It’s far from low-key at this time.” I believe many Filipinos will relate to Martin’s song because it makes them long for a time when life was less complicated.

Nievera the “Barry Manilow of our generation” by Frialde. According to Sarmiento, the event will help underprivileged students in Philippine schools. “These kids can’t afford school because they can’t afford tuition, materials, and uniforms,” Sarmiento added. According to Sarmiento, Nievera has pledged to contribute an equal amount to the effort as would be raised at the concert. According to Nievera, “Concert King” status requires him to “act like a king” for his audiences.

The Younts Center for the Performing Arts hosts the charity performance between 2:00 and 5:00 on that day.
