Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Release Date
It was a surprise to see pokemon scarlet and violet release date is announced so soon after two other recent entries in the franchise: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. What was even more surprising was the release date for the franchise’s next major chapter. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released on November 18, 2022, making it the second title released this calendar year and the third within a 12-month span.
What’s Different About These Two Versions?
A Pokémon release that has two different versions typically has minor variations between them. The logo and colour scheme of each game are the most blatant examples. The main character is dressed in Scarlet-themed apparel in the picture below, which illustrates this. With trade necessary for 100% completion, each edition will also feature a somewhat different list of Pokémon. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are very different from one another, but we don’t yet know how much so. In the following months, we’re likely to learn more.
All of Scarlet and Violets’ legendary Pokémon will be rideable, according to the Pokémon Presents event in August. Koraidon and Miraidon will change into bikes, flying machines, and other vehicles to help with transportation.
Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Terastallizing
Terastallizing is one of the most important new features in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It is a brand-new way to fight that promises to add new layers of strategy to battles. Terastallizing is a temporary change that Pokemon can go through, just like Mega Evolution and Dynamaxing. In this case, it gives them a crystalline look. Each Pokemon also has a Tera type that it takes on when it Terastallizes. Moves that match its Tera type get a big power boost.
Gen 2 Pokemon
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have a lot of new monsters as well as a lot of familiar ones from previous games. The game’s reveal trailer showed the grass-type cat Sprigatito, the fire-type crocodile Fuecoco, and the water-type duckling Quaxly, all of which could be a player’s partner Pokemon at the start of the adventure.
In the June trailer for the games, we saw a few more monsters, like the pig Pokemon Lechonk and the olive Pokemon Smoliv. On top of that, the video gave us our first look at each game’s legendary cover Pokemon: Koraidon (Pokemon Scarlet) and Miraidon (Pokemon Violet).
Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Trailers
Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have made three trailers for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far.In February 2022, during the Pokemon Presents stream, the first trailer (which you can see above) was shown. This video gave us our first look at the new games. It had gameplay clips and live-action footage of a security guard exploring a museum full of Easter eggs.
Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Setting And Location Details
On to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s locale/region. The Paldea Region is where it is located, and it has a Mediterranean-like appearance. With its sun-bleached homes and expansive meadows, many people have cited Spain as an influence. In the picture up top, you can see the updated setting. Both Pokémon Gyms where trainers must compete and open spaces populated with wild Pokémon may be found in Paldea.
Pokemon Home Connectivity
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be compatible with the Pokemon Home service, just like other Pokemon games for Nintendo Switch. This means you can import certain Pokemon you’ve caught in other games and use them in the new one.
Pokemon Home can be used on both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and there are both free and paid plans. The service recently got a big 2.0 update that made it work with the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus games.

Multiplayer
Like the other games in the series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet let you trade Pokemon with and battle other players. In addition to these series staples, the new games also let you explore the area with up to three other players, which is a first for the series. In the June trailer, four different player characters met up and went on adventures in the same world at the same time.
Raid battles will also make a comeback. You and up to three other players will be able to work together to fight Terastallized Pokemon. Unlike the raids in Pokemon Sword and Shield, however, these Tera raids have a strict time limit, and players can attack without waiting for others to go first.
Early-Buyer Bonus
As with other recent Pokemon games, people who buy Pokemon Scarlet and Violet early will get a special bonus. Everyone who buys a copy before February 28, 2023 will get a free special Pikachu. This Pokemon is special in two ways. First, it can fly, which is a move that it normally can’t learn. When it Terastallizes, it changes into a flying type.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet aren’t coming out for a few more months, but Nintendo has a few other big games planned for the Switch this year in the meantime. The massive RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came out on July 29, and Splatoon 3 and Bayonetta 3 are coming in September and October, respectively.
