Pelosi Doesn’t Mention Trump In Her Farewell Speech, But She Does Talk About Bush, Obama, And Biden

Pelosi praised Presidents Bush, Obama, and Biden, but she didn’t say a word about Trump. During her goodbye speech to Congress on Thursday, outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not mention former President Donald Trump.

The Democratic icon spoke about how honoured she was to have served with Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden, but she made no mention whatsoever of President Trump. In a statement that she delivered on Thursday on the floor of the House, Pelosi announced that although she intends to continue serving in Congress, she will no longer be seeking leadership posts within the Democratic caucus.

Pelosi said, “I have enjoyed working with three presidents, achieving historic investments in clean energy with President George Bush; transforming health care reform with President Barack Obama; and forging the future — from infrastructure to health care to climate action — with President Joe Biden.” Pelosi’s statement was made about her experience working with Bush, Obama, and Biden.

She went on to say that at this point, “now we must proceed boldly into the future grounded by the ideas that have carried us this far.”

Soon after Pelosi finished her address, Biden issued a statement that he lauded her. In addition, it was alleged that he congratulated Pelosi over the phone on Thursday morning. According to what Biden wrote, “When I think of Nancy Pelosi, I think of dignity.” She will go down in history as the most influential Speaker of the House of Representatives in the annals of our nation’s past.

“There are a myriad of instances in which she exemplifies the responsibility of elected officials to follow their oath to God and country in order to guarantee that our democracy fulfils its promises and continues to serve as an example for the rest of the world. The dignity that she sees in the lives of the people of this nation shines through in everything that she does, and she mirrors that dignity in all that she does, “he continued. Pelosi, who is 82 years old, has been a member of Congress for the past 35 years.

Because she, along with Representative Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland) in his role as Democratic leader and Representative Jim Clyburn (D-South Carolina) in his role as Democratic whip, has long led the party in the House of Representatives, her departure will leave a significant void in the House leadership.
