On Sunday afternoon, there was a report of gunfire at Northlake Mall in north Charlotte, prompting officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to dispatch a response.

After an altercation between two people, police believe one gun was discharged inside the mall near the DTLR shoe store. Due to the incident that occurred at 1:48 p.m., the mall had to close.
