Leah Messer is speaking candidly about her split with ex-fiance Jaylan Mobley for the first time. The Teen Mom actress says she is “doing great” as she navigates the breakup.
“The beginning of my breakup, it was difficult. But there’s a healing process, there’s a grieving process after any breakup,” the 30-year-old reality personality claims. “You form an attachment with someone and a connection, and you get to grieve that if that relationship doesn’t align.”
Messer continues, “But I’m excited to spend the holidays with my daughters and continue to do what we do as a family.” In September 2021, the MTV actress announced her relationship with Mobley.
The couple’s engagement was then announced in August. Two months later, their breakup was officially announced.
Messer and Mobley announced their split in a joint statement, saying they would “move forward as friends.” They further stated they would “forever have love and respect for each other.” Messer has benefited from realizing the value of self-care as one item since the divorce.

“I think self-care for everyone looks completely different,” she says. “So if it’s a spa day, if it’s meditating, if it’s hiking, really the way that I ground myself is through Earth. Whether that’s taking walks or hiking, or I really love spa days too. And music — music feeds my soul. It just does.”
Messer must continue to put herself and her needs first because she is a mother to three kids, which is especially important.
