Carolina Giraldo Navarro, also known as Karol G, is a Colombian singer and composer specializing in reggaeton and Latin trap music. Also, she has dabbled in various genres like reggae and sertaneja.
She was nominated for multiple Premios Lo Nuestro and Billboard Latin Music Awards and won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2018.
Giraldo started her career as a teenager by participating in the Colombian version of The X Factor. She was born and reared in Medelln, Colombia. To learn more about the music industry, she relocated to New York City in 2014 and inked a deal with Universal Music Latino.
The leading single off her 2017 debut album, Unstoppable, “Ahora Me Llama,” which she co-wrote with Puerto Rican rapper and vocalist Bad Bunny, became her breakout smash.
Her song “Secreto” gained popularity in Latin America in late 2018 as she and Anuel AA publicly acknowledged their connection in the music video.
She collaborated on “China” with Anuel AA, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna in July 2019, and it became her first song video to surpass one billion views on YouTube.

Compared to Unstoppable, her May 2019 album Ocean displayed a more laid-back vibe in her work. Her song “Tusa,” featuring Nicki Minaj, was certified 28x Latin Platinum by the RIAA and peaked at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Singles chart for 25 weeks.
