Kari Lake, the Republican candidate for governor of Arizona, is appealing the decision of a court in Maricopa County to reject her case challenging the results of the midterm elections.

Tuesday was the day that Lake submitted a notice of appeal to the Arizona Superior Court in order to challenge the dismissal of several counts, including two counts that were tried in court for two days and other offenses that were never brought to trial.

During the brief trial, it was determined that she did not have sufficient evidence to support her claims that local election officials committed intentional misconduct that had an effect on the race between Lake and the Democratic candidate for governor, Katie Hobbs, which Lake ultimately lost by a margin of approximately 17,000 votes.

“I am standing up for the people of this state, the people who were done wrong on Election Day and the millions of people who live outside of Maricopa County, whose vote was watered down by this bogus election in Maricopa County,” Lake said in an appearance on Stephen Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, which she shared on her Twitter feed on Tuesday. The podcast is hosted by Bannon. “I am standing up for the people of this state,” Lake said. “I am standing up for the people

In the document that Lake submitted on Tuesday, it states that he will “request direct review by the Arizona Supreme Court.” After the judgement that was handed down the previous week, Lake was quite clear that she intended to appeal the decision.

“My Election Case has shown the world that our elections are conducted in violation of the law and has produced proof to support this claim. The judge’s decision was not favorable to our side. Nevertheless, in the interest of reestablishing trust and candor in our electoral process, I will appeal his verdict,” Lake declared right before Christmas.
