Ice Cube is a rapper, actor, producer, and business owner from the United States. Ice Cube has gone from being one of the first people to do West Coast gangsta rap to being one of the most powerful people in Hollywood right now. After becoming famous and making a lot of money as a member of NWA, started a very successful solo career. He has also written, made, and acted in several movies.

    Ice Cube Net Worth

American rapper, actor, producer, and businessman Ice Cube is a multitalented creative force. Ice Cube had a net worth of $160 million at the time this was published. A pioneer of West Coast gangster rap, Ice Cube has risen to become a major Hollywood player.

    Ice Cube Early Life

Ice Cube was born on June 15, 1969, in South Central Los Angeles. His real name is O’Shea Jackson. Jackson was born to a housekeeper and hospital clerk named Doris and a groundskeeper at UCLA named Hosea Jackson. He has a brother who is older than him and a half-sister who died tragically when Ice Cube was only 12. He grew up in Los Angeles on Van Wick Street. When he was 14, he started writing rap and hip-hop music. Ice Cube got his name as a rapper from his older brother, who was said to have said he would throw him into a freezer and pull him out when he was a baby. The name stuck, and Ice Cube became a rapper.

He went to high school in Woodland Hills, CA, at William Howard Taft. At age 16, he sold his first song to Eazy-E, who later joined the N.W.A. In the fall of 1987, he went to college at the Phoenix Institute of Technology in Arizona, where he had gone to high school. He went to school to learn how to draw plans for buildings and got his diploma in a year. Ice Cube then went back to Los Angeles to try to make a living as a rapper.

    Ice Cube Career

Ice Cube and his pal Sir Jinx are the founders of the group C.I.A. They gave performances at several events that Dr. Dre threw throughout the Los Angeles area. Ice Cube and CIA collaborated on a song called “My Posse,” which was released in 1987 and produced by Dr. Dre. Ice Cube presented Eazy-E with the lyrics to a rap song he had written called “Boyz-n-the-Hood,” and at first, Eazy-E was not a fan of the lyrics. However, Eazy-E finally ended up recording the song for “N.W.A and the Posse,” the debut album for N.W.A, the group that also included Dr. Dre, MC Ren, DJ Yella, and Ice Cube. Eazy-version E’s of the song was included on the album.

Ice Cube was responsible for the majority of the group’s groundbreaking album, “Straight Outta Compton,” which was released in 1988. He also composed the rhymes for Dr. Dre and Eazy-E. However, the total compensation for his contributions was only $32,000. Ice Cube parted ways with N.W.A. because disagreements over his compensation and official contracts with the group could not be resolved to his satisfaction.

    Independent Career

Ice Cube’s first solo album, “AmeriKKK’a Most Wanted,” came out in May 1990. It was an instant hit, riding the wave of rap’s huge popularity at the time. In the same year, he put out the EP “Kill at Will,” which was the first hip-hop EP to go Platinum. In the crime drama “Boyz n the Hood” by John Singleton, Ice Cube played the role of Doughboy in 1991. Critics all over the world praised him for his performance.

In 1991, he put out his second album, “Death Certificate.” It was controversial, and some people liked it and some didn’t. In 1992, he played at Lollapalooza, which gave him more fans. In November 1992, he put out his third album, called “The Predator.” It was the first album in history to debut at No. 1 on both the pop and R&B charts, and critics liked it a lot. It is still his best-selling album, with over three million copies sold in the U.S.

Ice Cube’s rap audience went down in 1993. Critics did not like his fourth album, which was called “Lethal Injection.” After that, he stopped making music for a while. His fifth album, War & Peace Vol. 1, didn’t come out until 1998. In 2000, he went on the “Up in Smoke Tour” with Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Snoop Dog. It took him another six years to put out his next album, “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard charts.

Ice Cube’s ninth solo album was called “I Am the West.” It came out on September 28, 2010. During the 2010s, Ice Cube worked on different projects and with different groups. He even went outside of the hip-hop world to work on some racks with Trent Reznor and David Bowie. “Everything’s Corrupt,” his tenth solo album, came out in 2018 after he slowly put out singles over a few years.

    Ice Cube Personal Life

On April 26, 1992, Ice Cube married Kimberly Woodruff. They have four kids together: O’Shea Jr., who was born in 1991, Darrell, who was born in 1992, Kaereema, who was born in 1994, and Shareef, who was born in 1995. O’Shea Jr. played him in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton.

In January 2005, Ice Cube was on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and Gross asked him if he let his kids listen to his music. He said, “What has worked for me is teaching my kids self-respect and helping them understand not only the violence in music but also in the evening news.” When asked what he tells his kids about swearing, he said that there are times for every kind of language, but that they shouldn’t use certain words in front of adults out of respect.
