On Wednesday night’s Near West Side, a Chicago Police officer who was not on duty was sh0t and injured—by temporary police about a press conference, Supt.
Fred Waller stated that the off-duty individual was moving in the alleyway behind the 2200 block of West Maypole Avenue, close to Oakley Boulevard, at about 9:16 p.m.
Waller stated the officer encountered some trash cans hindering his progress. Waller said when the officer returned to the car after moving the trash cans, roughly five persons approached and sh0t him.

Waller told the officer, took cover behind his car, fired back, and was fired upon again. According to the authorities, the cop was found after driving to safety. Nearby, at Leavitt and Walnut streets, his sport utility vehicle was discovered with what seemed to be a bullet hole in the windshield.
Waller said the officer was treated for a graze wound to his arm at Cook County’s Stroger Hospital. There was at least one weapon found. Waller stated the officer was allegedly sh0t as he was leaving supper.
He claimed to have spoken with the officer, who was visibly upset and relieved that his arm had only been lightly scratched.
“The amount of shell casings that we found out there could have been very, very much worse,” said Waller.
