    Bob Saget Career

Saget started out doing stand-up comedy and touring all over the country. However, he was not successful until he started appearing on TV. In 1981, he was on “The Merv Griffin Show” for the first time. Then, in early 1987, he was on “The Morning Program” on CBS for a short time. However, his role as Danny Tanner on “Full House” made him a household name.

The show was very well-liked; from its third season on, it was always in the Nielsen Top 30. It has kept getting more and more popular thanks to syndicated reruns. Saget plays Danny Tanner, a widowed dad who raises his three daughters with help from his brother-in-law Jesse and best friend, Joey. From 1987 to 1995, there were eight seasons and 192 episodes of the show.

Saget also started hosting the show “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (AFV) in 1989, a job he kept until 1997. In the early 1990s, when both shows were on the air, he worked on “Full House” and AFV simultaneously. Saget was responsible for the 1996 ABC TV movie “For Hope.”

It was based on the life of his sister, Gay Saget, who had died from scleroderma three years before. Saget went on to direct “Dirty Work,” which starred Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange, in 1998. It mainly got terrible reviews when it came out and didn’t do well at the box office.

Since then, though, it has become a cult favorite, perhaps because Lange became well-known after appearing on “The Howard Stern Show.” Saget starred in the short-lived WB sitcom “Raising Dad” with Kat Dennings, Brie Larson, and Jerry Adler from October 2001 to May 2002.

Saget started giving his voice to the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” in 2005. He was the voice of the future Ted Mosby and narrated the series until it ended in 2014. He ran the NBC game show “1 vs. 100” from 2006 to 2008. “That Ain’t Right,” his HBO comedy special from 2007, was dedicated to his father, who had died earlier that year from complications caused by congestive heart failure.

Saget has also worked on the short-lived ABC sitcom “Surviving Suburbia,” which premiered in April 2009 and ran for only one season; the A&E series “Strange Days,” which aired in 2010; and a guest-starring role in the series “Grandfathered,” which starred and was produced by his old “Full House” co-star John Stamos.

    Different Projects

Saget is not only involved in TV and movies, but he has also written books that have been published. In 2014, his book “Dirty Daddy” came out. He talks about his life, career, stand-up comedy, and other things.

He went on his first stand-up tour in Australia, called “Bob Saget Live: The Dirty Daddy Tour,” after the book came out. There were performances in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. In April 2020, he and Studio71 started a podcast called “Bob Saget’s Here for You.”

At the time of his death in 2022, he was worth $50 million. He spent $2.9 million on a recently renovated Los Angeles property in June 2003. Kelly Rizzo, Bob’s wife, listed their home for $7.675 million in June 2022. Here’s a video that takes you through the facility.

    Bob Saget Personal Life

From May 1982 to November 1997, Saget was married to Sherri Kramer. Together, they had three girls. In 2018, he took Kelly Rizzo as his wife. They stayed married until January 2022, when he died. Bob was on the board of the Scleroderma Research Foundation and worked hard to raise money and awareness about his sister’s disease.

    Bob Saget Real Estate

Bob and his then-wife Sherri bought a house in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles for $2.5 million in September 1990. Today’s money would be the same as spending a little more than $5 million. In June 2003, he paid $2.9 million for a home in Los Angeles that had just been fixed. Kelly Rizzo, married to Bob, put this house on the market for $7.675 million in June 2022. Here is a tour of the place on video.
