Black Jesus, is bout an African American Christ hi-jinks of a street-smart savior who lives in modern-day Compton, he tries to spread love, kindness, and charity throughout the crime-ridden L.A. neighborhood with his small group of followers, who are devoted to Jesus and his mission. The series follows this modern avatar of the Messiah as he enters the Mayhem of the urban jungle and becomes involved in numerous misfortunes— as he and his team constantly devise new ways to spread the word of God to the ‘hood.’
In the first season we have seen, Jesus establishes a community garden in Compton with his gang. where they grow mystical tomatoes laced and weeds.
This activity results in a clash, which brings in celebrities like Coolio for a large benefit concert. However, due to his claims of being the real Christ, Jesus winds up in a mental institution.
