I was able to watch my father pass away from it, and it tore my heart apart. It is encouraging that Representative Raskin is optimistic and that the treatment he will soon begin can cure his cancer.
In response to the statement that Greene had posted on the platform, Raskin wrote, “Thank you, Marjorie, for this lovely letter, which my youngest daughter gave me. I am appreciative of your care and deeply saddened to discover that your father passed away as a result of cancer. I hope you get to spend the holidays with those you love.”

Raskin is beginning treatment for a typical kind of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that affects white blood cells in the body’s immune system. These symptoms appear at the same time. Raskin has stated that his cancer is “severe, but curable,” and he is beginning treatment at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., for chemo-immunotherapy.
Raskin states, “I hope to be able to work through this period, but have been urged by my doctors to restrict needless exposure to avoid COVID-19, the flu, and other viruses.” Raskin was diagnosed with a specific form of cancer known as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
This form of cancer almost always originates in the lymph nodes located in most parts of the body. Even though it spreads quickly and is particularly dangerous, the tumor can be treated. Raskin expressed his desire to “get through this” and “keep making progress every day in Congress for American democracy” on Wednesday.
