Laurens Bancroft, a millionaire, is one of the wealthiest Meths on Altered Carbon (played by James Purefoy). He’s one of the show’s oldest living characters, with several clones of his original body. He is approximately 360 years old and one of the original founders of the Meths.
The Meaning Behind Meths Explained
Meth is derived from the Hebrew word Methuselah. Methuselah is a well-known person in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is a historical patriarch from the Bible. He is the grandfather of Noah and the father of Lamech.
Methuselah is said to have lived for 969 years, making him the Bible’s longest person ever mentioned. Since the Meths are also one of the show’s longest-living characters, Altered Carbon must have taken influence from it.
