During the Capcom Showcase 2022, Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon’s Dogma, said:

“Hello everybody. I’m the game director at Capcom. My name is Hideaki Itsuno. Dragon’s Dogma turned 10 a few weeks ago, and we had a party to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who came to this party with us.

“Since then, the world of Dragon’s Dogma has spread to many different kinds of media, from games like Dragon’s Dogma and the Dark Arisen expansion to digital comics and an animated series made by Netflix.

“In the next few days, we’ll be putting out a video that talks about how and why Dragon’s Dogma has been around for 10 years. So, whether you’ve been following the series for a long time or are just curious about it, we have something for you to enjoy! We hope you’ll take a look!

Dragon’s Dogma Event

Dragon’s Dogma is one of Capcom’s open-world action RPGs that isn’t as well-known but is still loved. The developer is happy that the game has reached a big milestone by making a website for Dragon’s Dogma’s 10th anniversary.

The site went live on May 22, the day the game came out in North America. This includes a new piece of art that shows the Arisen, the main character of the game who can be changed, as well as a dragon. Capcom has also announced that there will be a digital event presentation later this month. This website is just one part of the party.

During Capcom’s Summer Showcase, where games like Exoprimal, the Resident Evil 4 Remake, and the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion were shown off, this news was shared. Hideaki Itsuno, who was in charge of making the game, made a special announcement at one of these press conferences.

He said that there will be a Dragon’s Dogma event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game. For the 10th anniversary of Dragon’s Dogma, there was even a new logo with the number 10 in it. This video will be shown on both Capcom’s YouTube channel and Dragon’s Dogma’s YouTube channel on June 16th.

One reason why Dragon’s Dogma is so popular is that it was Capcom’s first attempt at an open-world action RPG and the first attempt at a massive online multiplayer mode, years before the Monster Hunter series added an open world.

With the release of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which came out years after the original game, technical improvements and fan feedback were made to bring the game up to date with modern systems.

Many fans think that this news could mean that the game will be updated for newer systems, like the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. Other fans are hoping that this will lead to the announcement of Dragon 2, which has been asked for a lot over the past ten years.

This request is backed up by rumours that spread after a ransomware attack on Capcom’s database in 2020, which exposed a number of projects that were still in the works. This included things like the game’s engine that could be used in a possible sequel. Itsuno has been teasing fans about a new project he has been working on since 2021, and many fans hope it is the rumoured sequel. Fans won’t know if these rumours are true until the event happens.
