Xbox has announced the free Games with Gold games for October 2022. There are two games for Xbox One and Xbox Series X to try out.
The free Xbox games that are part of the Games with Gold program for October 2022 have been made public by Microsoft and are available to Xbox Live Gold users. Recently, Microsoft has implemented several significant alterations to the free Games with a Gold program that is available on Xbox Live.
For almost ten years, Microsoft has provided Xbox Live Gold subscribers with two free Xbox 360 games and two free Xbox One games every month. However, the free games that were offered in September 2022 were the final time that Microsoft will ever offer games for the Xbox 360 platform as part of the program.
The final free title offered under the Games with Gold program for the Xbox 360 was Valve’s first-person puzzle game Portal 2, which received widespread acclaim from gaming critics.
The release of Portal 2 as the final free game for the Xbox 360 was a fantastic way to go out with a bang; however, going forwards, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will only receive two free games each month rather than the four games that they had been receiving for years. This change is because Microsoft is cutting back on the number of free games that it distributes.

Windbound and Bomber Crew: Deluxe Edition is the first two games in this new era of the Xbox Live free Games with Gold program. Even though there are now only two free Games with Gold games, their releases are still spread out throughout the month. It’s a survival game at heart, but it lets you explore more than a lot of other games in the same genre. Bomber Crew: Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is a cartoony strategy game set during World War II. It got better reviews than Windbound, so strategy game fans might want to check it out when it comes out on October 16.
In the meantime, Xbox Live Gold members still have time to get some of the free games for September 2022 that are part of the Games with Gold program. Two of the free Games with Gold games, Portal 2 and Gods Will Fall, will be available until September 30, and Double Kick Heroes will be available until October 15.
