The Rookie Season 5 Plot

Even though it’s too early to give a full season synopsis based solely on the season finale, subsequent episodes will likely explore some interesting material. What about love? The Rookie Season 4 ended with a literal kiss between Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Bradford (Eric Winter) which was a long time in the making for the two characters.

When it comes to crime shows, even the most casual viewer knows that pairing up with a character like Chadford or Brennan isn’t always a success. For now, we’ll choose to be wary about the creators of The Rookie giving us a simple and lasting love story with these two.

Season 5 will, of course, continue to follow Officer Nolan as he advances in his law enforcement career. This is a crime procedural, so don’t forget there will be fascinating storylines with fresh cases to be explored in the future.

The Chi Season 4: Are Chenford Finally Official After This Season?

In the Season 4 finale of The Rookie, Eric Winter’s Tim Bradford and Melissa O’Neil’s Lucy Chen pushed their cooperation to a new level, giving some fans of the show what they’ve been yearning for years.

Work was a major factor in the episode, but it wasn’t the only one. After driving into the LAPD’s lot with a new automobile, Tamara (Dylan Conrique) gets into trouble with the law. Until a search dog picks up on something odd, Tamara has no idea the car she just bought from a secondhand seller is loaded with heroin.

Because of this, Chen determines that the owner of the car is a drug dealer who bears an uncanny likeness to Bradford. In order to bring down a major kingpin, Bradford is used as a stooge by the authorities. Lopez (Alyssa Diaz) decides to continue the covert operation after Bradford’s pseudonym is given another job.

As an added bonus, the lookalike of Bradford’s girlfriend has a near-clone of Chen’s girlfriend, who joins the undercover operation as well. To help sell their covert identities, Bradford and Chen come together and decide to practice some PDA, specifically a few kisses.

It was a success for those who had been hoping for the couple to get together, as they first shared a short peck before hitting it all out with an epic smooch. However, the episode stops before their operation is finished, leaving us to question if #Chenford is genuinely a thing yet? Is it already here? The Rookie Season 5 will premiere on ABC on September 5, so please take the poll below and let us know what you think.
