The Gifted Season 3
The sci-fi superhero fiction, The Gifted has already had a run for 2 seasons on Hulu. Fox television collaborated with Marvel Television to produce it, Matt Nix being the creator behind it. The show has an IMDb rating of 7.3, which is not too bad.
Ticking all the boxes of a good superhero show, with a decent storyline to keep one interested. Taking a different take on their movies, it is set in an alternate world where X-man has gone missing and the guardians have to protect their children while fleeing. They soon realize that their children are now having mutational abilities.
With exciting VFX and gripping photography, the show looked promising at the start. Starting with a variety of directions that the creative heads could go in, they left too much to be wondered. Unfortunately, even though the critics had high hopes of seeing the shows, it could not spellbind the audience. The show first aired in October 2017, and saw its second season in 2019.
The Gifted Season 3: Release Date
With not very pleasing viewership stats the show shall not be going for its renewal for the 3rd Season at least in the foreseeable future. The first season saw a viewership of around 3 million people, and It dropped by a million for its next season, and the finale left it to only a 1.6million views. For a primetime show, the odds aren’t too good.
The second season opened new directions for the show to progress in. They built the story around the Inner Circle’s defeat. Then, the protagonists planned and explored Mutation Underground. And in a surprise the last move, Blink opened the dark future to an even darker reality.
In its last episode, it ends with Reed Strucker (Stephon Moyer) dying trying to stop Reeva (Grace Byres) from creating a false mutant nation. She wanted to create one with Benedict Ryan (Peter Gallagher). Reed had been struggling to keep a check on his powers for a while.
With no other option left, he allowed his powers to overtake and ruin the Inner Circle’s HQ, turning it into dust, for his family and the rest of the people who could have been killed
Nix said to Slash films that, “all is not lost and that they could turn to stream as an option:
I think that my sense is that the most likely thing is that if we come back, we’ll go back in some sort of creative way. Some partnership, because I think what we’ve discovered is that fans of The Gifted are big fans of The Gifted.”
He further added that “We have a solid fan base, and it’s a little small for the broadcast networks. But we do well on streaming, so there may be; my hope is that there’s something to work out in that realm.”
