Severance Season 2: What We Know About The Cast, The Plot, And More

Severance Season 2: What We Know About The Cast, The Plot, And More: Season 2 of Severance will be available on Apple TV. Here’s what we know so far, including the trailer, cast, plot, and other details. If you could stop worrying about having the right balance between work and life and forget everything about your job as soon as your shift is over, would you?

This is the moral and emotional dilemma at the heart of Severance, an amazing series by Ben Stiller that debuted on Apple TV+ earlier this year. It combines the best of Black Mirror’s dystopian-thriller edge with heart-wrenching drama. After the finale, which ended on a huge cliffhanger, viewers can’t wait for the next season. It’s good news that it’s coming back, so here’s what we know so far.

When Will Season 2 Of Severance Be Available?

At the time of writing, there is no official date for Season 2 of Severance. However, we can expect it to come out sometime in 2023 or early 2024. A few hints have been given. In April, Ben Stiller, who directs several episodes, replied to a fan’s tweet by saying, “S1 took us a couple of years to make.” “Hope you can stick it out!”

Stiller, the show’s creator and executive producer Dan Erickson, and cast members Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Dichen Lachman, and Jen Tullock will talk about “innies” at the “Inside Severance” panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Will one of these secrets be the date that Season 2 will come out?

In a video about Season 2, the streaming service said that it will feel “like you never left.” Ben Stiller also told Variety, “It’s really exciting to see how much people love the show and how involved they are with it.

“Bringing Severance to TV has been a long process. I read [Dan Erickson’s] pilot for the first time more than five years ago. It has always been a story for more than one season, and I’m so glad we get to keep going with it. I’m thankful to our partners at Apple TV+, who have always been on board. Praise Kier!”

Severance Season 2 Trailer:

At the time this was written, there was no trailer for Season 2. Erickson recently told Deadline that writing for the second season has just started, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see a trailer for a while. However, we’ll let you know when it comes out.

Severance Season 2 Cast:

Because Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, most, if not all, of the cast of Severance will be back for Season 2, including:

  • Adam Scott as Mark Scout
  • Zach Cherry as Dylan George
  • Britt Lower as Helly R/Helly Eagan
  • John Turturro as Irving Bailiff
  • Patricia Arquette as Harmony Cobel
  • Tramell Tillman as Seth Milchick
  • Dichen Lachman as Ms. Casey/Gemma
  • Christopher Walken as Burt Goodman
  • Jen Tullock as Devon Hale, Mark’s sister
  • Michael Chernus as Ricken Hale, Devon’s husband
  • Michael Siberry as Jame Eagan, the CEO of Lumon Industries

Given that Peter “Petey” Kilmer, a former Lumon employee and friend of Mark’s “innie,” passed away in Season 1, it is unknown whether or not we will see Yul Vazquez reprise his role as Kilmer. In all likelihood, we will only see him in flashbacks as Mark struggles to cope with the dramatic events of Season 1.

On October 31, TVLine reported many new cast members that have been added for the upcoming second season. Among these are Gwendoline Christie (from “Game of Thrones”), John Noble (from “Fringe”), Alia Shawkat (from “Arrested Development”), Merritt Wever (from “Unbelievable”), and countless others.

Severance Season 2 Plot

Mark is a worker at Lumon Industries who works in the Macrodata Refinement division. He is laid off. After his wife Gemma dies, he decides to take part in the title’s severance program. This splits his memory into two parts: his “innie” only remembers his work life with his coworkers, while his “outie” doesn’t remember anything about work.

He works with Dylan, Irving, and “Helly R.” “Helly R.” is a new employee who is having a hard time adjusting. She even tried to kill herself, but her “outie” turned down her resignation, which is the same as locking her up.

The end of Season 1 was one of the most dramatic cliffhangers in the last 10 years. Helly R found out that she is actually Helena Eagan, the heir to Lumon. Irving showed up at Burt’s door after they had a romantic moment in Lumon, but he was already in a relationship. And we last saw Dylan being tackled to the ground by Milchick after he let the “innies” escape for a short time.

Erickson says that this trip into the outside world will have an effect on the plot of Severance Season 2. He told Esquire, “There will definitely be some growth in the world.”

“Within Lumon, we’re going to see more of the building, and we’ll see more of the outside world, too.”

In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Erickson said, “We’re going to keep putting a lot of emphasis on how these characters relate to each other, and we’re also making the world bigger.”

“The first season was a group effort, but it was obviously much more about Mark on the outside. We wanted the audience to see Mark’s life from his point of view. He doesn’t know who Helly, Irving, and Dylan are outside of work, which is the only thing he knows about them.

“So, that’s how we wanted to tell the story in Season 1, but in Season 2, we’ll show how these people look on the outside. Like Mark, they each had their own reason for getting this procedure, and they are all in some stage of healing for something or another.

And that’s before the biggest surprise of all: Mark found out that Gemma was not only alive, but had been cut off and was working as a wellness counselor at Lumon as Ms. Casey. “She’s still alive!” he yelled as the end credits rolled. Erickson told Variety, “There’s a question of who was targeted first: Was Mark targeted because of his relationship with Gemma, or was it the other way around?” And we don’t see that this season, but we will in future seasons.

“That’s the big question, what is special about Mark? And is it actually that there’s something special about him or is it more about Gemma, and he was sort of pulled in? Those are all left unanswered this season, but we will get into it.”
