The Overwatch 2 Servers Are Down Because Of A “Mass Ddos Attack” On The Day The Game Came Out

BLIZZARD SAYS IT’S WORKING TO RESOLVE ISSUES STOPPING PLAYERS FROM ACCESSING THE GAME.

On the day the game came out, the Overwatch 2 servers were hit by a “massive” distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.

Mike Ybarra, the president of Blizzard, said on Tuesday that the company is doing its best to fix the problems that keep players from getting into the game.

“Overwatch 2 server problems are getting a lot of attention,” he wrote on Twitter. “We’re flattered by how excited players are, and we’ll keep working to solve problems and get players into the fun! Thank you for waiting.

“Unfortunately, we are suffering a widespread distributed denial of service attack on our systems,” Ybarra stated further. “Teams are putting in a lot of effort to mitigate and manage. This is resulting in a significant increase in connection and dropout problems.”
