This concert is a collaboration between the South Korean entertainment brand KAMP Global (which aims to spread K-pop around the world through festivals, live events, immersive, and artist representation) and the Asian partnership brand Eventim Live Asia (which focuses on the most important live markets in Asia). In this post, you will read about how Monsta X, Kai, Jeon Somi, and more join KAMP LA 2022.

The two-day festival, which will take place at the Rose Bowl, will feature Korean culture in various forms, including art, cuisine, and video games. KAMP LA 2022 will feature brand collaborations with companies including LA artist Kenny Scharf and popular Korean production studio Dingo Music.

Kai, of the top-charting boy bands EXO and SuperM, says in a release, “It’s thrilling to take part in the KAMP LA lineup.” As one observer put it, “This could truly be the largest K-pop event in U.S. history.”

Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk chimes in, “this is something remarkable that K-pop fans will remember and speak about for years to come.”

In the past, K-pop enthusiasts have filled the historic Rose Bowl stadium. The two BTS gigs in May 2019 broke the venue’s Boxscore record with 113,040 tickets sold and $16.6 million in revenue, according to Billboard Boxscore (out-pacing the likes of Taylor Swift and U2).

Head in the Clouds returns to Los Angeles this weekend, bringing with it a lineup of Asian artists such as K-pop star Chung Ha, rapper Jay Park, and up-and-coming R&B-pop star BIBI, singer-songwriter eaJ, and GOT7 member Jackson Wang.

Everyone in K-pop, says KAMP Global CEO Tim Kim, wants to make it big in the United States. “L.A. has a profound influence on Korean culture. This is where we’ve always started, but now with KAMP and Eventim Live Asia, we’re taking K-pop around the world. We plan on touring all regions where K-pop is popular. KAMP is not restricted to large-scale performances or landmark occasions; it is a way of life.

In addition, Jason Miller, CEO of Eventim Live Asia, says, “Kim’s notion was immediately exciting. The teams at KAMP Global and Eventim Live Asia have the same global vision for K-pop and the know-how to make it a reality in new and exciting ways. That’s why KAMP LA is such an important first step. Plenty more are on the way.

Taking place on October 15th and 16th, 2022, KAMP LA is not to be missed. The lineup and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
