Two Police Officers Were Shot And One Was Killed In Missouri, Prompting A Manhunt

The man who law enforcement believes to be responsible for the death of one Missouri police officer and the injury of another officer is currently being sought by authorities.

According to FOX 2 in St. Louis, Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith of the Hermann Police Department and another officer were injured when they were shot just before 9:20 p.m. on Sunday outside of a general store in Hermann.

Following the incident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol issued a Blue Alert and was given instructions to conduct an investigation. Kenneth Lee Simpson, age 35, was identified as the gunman by MSHP, and a representative for the agency told Fox News Digital that the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The information that investigators received led them to suspect Simpson had barricaded himself inside a residence immediately across the street from where the incident took place; however, it has not been proven that Simpson is inside the home.
