Malcolm Brogdon, a star for the Boston Celtics, has been awarded the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year for 2022–2023, joining Bill Walton (1985–86) and Kevin McHale (1983–84, 1984–85) as the only other Celtics to receive this honor.
After joining the Celtics from Indiana this offseason, the seasoned guard accepted his new position with them this season. He exclusively came off the bench for the first time in his career, and he did a great job as the sixth man.
He averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists this season as a reserve, the second-best stat line in the league after Russell Westbrook.
The 30-year-old won the prize by defeating Bobby Portis of the Chicago Bulls and Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks, two other finalists. Quickley had 34 first-place votes and 326 points, while Brogdon received 60 first-place votes and 408 total points.
“This is such an honour. It has definitely been a transition for me, coming from Indiana to Boston,” said Brogdon.
“My last two seasons, they weren’t super successful, so for me that was another gut check for me in understanding that maybe I’m not a No 1 guy but I can be a great No 2, 3 or 4.”

Victoria Janowski, now Victoria Brogdon, is the spouse of Malcolm Brogdon. According to her LinkedIn profile, Victoria attended the University of Virginia and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature.
They met at the University of Virginia, where Malcolm was also a student. Victoria stated how they initially met: “Our #UVALoveStory started our first year in Kellogg.” After meeting at our first All Sports Banquet, we clicked right away.

Former college volleyball player Victoria Janowski previously held the vice-chair position for the Black Student Alliance athletic council. She works in global partnerships at BSE Global after working as a litigation paralegal.
Although she and Malcolm maintain their relationship a secret, she has previously been seen at a number of NBA-related events. She was present when Malcolm signed with the Pacers in 2019 along with his family:

In a recent Inside the NBA interview, Ernie Johnson told Malcolm that it was “very cool for you too to have your wife Victoria here today and your daughter.”
