Over the years, ‘Junjou Romantica’ has established itself as one of the greatest romantic anime series available. This rom-com-themed anime was created by Studio Deen, which has worked on titles like ‘Fate/Stay Night’ and ‘Vampire Knight,’ and its traditional visual style perfectly complements the show’s premise. A highlight is the cast’s wide range of personalities and the complex web of connections they weave together.
“Junjou Romantica,” in contrast to most anime, which focuses on traditional heterosexual relationships among high school students, portrays the relationships between its characters who are gay in a good way. You might be skeptical at first about what it’s attempting to convey, but if you stick with it for a long time, you’ll be surprised by just how compelling it is. This is a must-see for every romantic anime fan who doesn’t mind yaoi’s involvement.
Junjou Romantica Season 4 Release Date
Season 1 of ‘Junjou Romantica’ debuted on April 11, 2008, and concluded on June 27, 2008, after a run of 12 episodes. Afterward, there was a second season that ran from October 12 to December 28, 2008. After that, on July 9th, 2015, the anime’s third season aired and ran through September 24th, 2015. ‘Junjou Romantica’ season 4 hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but based on the anime’s past release schedule, it’s likely to launch in 2021 if the show is renewed.
The seven-year gap between seasons 2 and 3 of Studio Deen’s anime series provides us reason to believe that, even five years after the publication of its last season, the show will return. Even its original manga is still going strong, with a total of 21 volumes to its name. The absence of source material should not be a barrier for the creators. ‘Junjou Romantica’ may return with a new season in the near future, based on the current situation. However, we can’t be certain until we have some sort of formal word on the matter. We’ll be sure to post any new information about this as soon as we have it, so check back often.
