Julie Watts is considered an expert in the field because she has spent the last thirty years working as a clinical psychologist in various settings, including public and private companies.
She has experience in the public and commercial sectors, which explains why. She finished her studies at the University of Western Australia and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with Honors in 1987.
She then returned to the same college and studied there for another two years before graduating with a master’s in clinical psychology. Psychology is a topic covered in the curriculum for each of these degrees.
Her time working at KEMH has directly contributed to her becoming an authority on the psychological concerns of women’s and perinatal health. Her specialty is perinatal and women’s health.

To find tailored solutions for each of her clients, Julie uses a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including acceptance and attachment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, chronic therapy, and life coaching.
