Following a medical issue, Jamie Foxx is “steadily improving.” According to a source, the Day Shift star is “on the mend” after being hospitalized for a medical issue that was “serious enough” for family to travel into town.
Corrine, Jamie’s daughter with his ex-girlfriend Connie Kline, issued a statement to inform the public of the incident. “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
It comes after reports that the health scare forced the “shutdown” of filming for his upcoming flick Back In Action. Earlier in the week, he had been working in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
A casting director reportedly told followers on Thursday that a sequence scheduled to shoot this Sunday has been postponed owing to “changes in production.”
Pictures of a stand-in being utilized for Jamie when filming picked back up the following day have surfaced. According to TMZ, Jamie is also “doing a lot better” these days and even “joking with his family.”
“The medical emergency was serious, and doctors still haven’t understood what happened to him. He’ll be in the hospital for at least a few more days, while doctors perform tests,” the source said.
