Fast & Furious 11 — or Fast X Part 2, if you prefer — now has a fixed release date, and after that shocking Fast X cliffhanger conclusion, we need to see it now. Vin Diesel announced in early June 2023. However, it won’t be the following Fast & Furious film that we watch because Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs will have a solo movie before then.
Johnson declared that his stand-alone film would serve as “a fresh, new chapter & set up” for Fast X Part 2 after making a surprise appearance in the Fast X movie’s closing credits. But as of now, that’s all we know. We don’t yet know when that will happen.
Could the Hobbs movie be a part of the trilogy Diesel alludes to when he claims Fast X is the first instalment of a trilogy rather than a two-parter as first believed? Or will the Hobbs film be followed by another Fast & Furious movie?

We can assume that Fast 11 would have to start filming around April 2024 to be released in April 2025 as is the goal. Fast X was shot from April to August 2022 before its release in May 2023.
Universal has not yet confirmed the next movie’s filming schedule, and we won’t know for sure until the writers’ strike is ended.
The strike has already impacted other big upcoming films, such as Thunderbolts. We might be on edge even longer if the same happens with the upcoming Fast & Furious movie.
It might also impact the Hobbs solo film, which we presume must release before Fast X Part 2, possibly in April 2024, assuming it serves as a bridge to the subsequent movie. A release date hasn’t been officially announced yet, though.
