Who was Eric J. Lawrence?
Eric J. Lawrence worked in radio for a long time and did a great job of it. During his time at UCLA, he got his first job as a DJ at KLA. He then became the station’s sports guy and the guy who gave away tickets. Later, he became the station’s music director, general manager, and even the host of a game show. During this time, he fell in love with music librarying and decided to make it his career after he graduated from UCLA in 2012.
Soon after, in 2013, he joined KCRW’s music library team. He quickly became one of their most trusted members because he knew so much about the history of music and could find almost any song DJs or listeners asked for. He was an important member of KCRW’s music library team, and he also worked as a guest DJ on different shows over the years because he knew so much about all kinds of music, from indie rock to jazz and everything in between.
