Elvis Costello discussed the strange way he met his wife in front of millions of viewers at the Grammy Awards. Since 2003, the English singer-songwriter Declan Patrick MacManus has married the Canadian jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall.
Costello discussed their first encounter during an interview on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, which she co-hosts with her mother, Lennie Ware. He said, “We met, weirdly enough, onstage in front of a billion people. We met to give an award.”
It was asked Jessie Ware if the attraction was “instant,” to which Costello said it was for him, “certainly, but I didn’t know how I would ever broach the subject.”
