Classroom Of The Elite Season 2: Manga and light novels by the same name, “Classroom of the Elite,” are popular high school drama anime. Shgo Kinugasa’s “Classroom of the Elite” was originally conceived as a series of light novels that follows the life of a small group of high school students attending Japan’s most renowned academic institution’s lowest-ranked class (via Anime News Network). While he appears to be an ordinary student, Kiyotaka Ayanokiji is actually super-genius hiding in plain sight. Early in Kiyotaka’s time at the school, he and his pals discover that their progress toward the top of the academic ladder depends more on sabotage than on hard work.
After the release of the original light novel in 2015, it was quickly followed by manga and anime adaptations, which premiered in 2017. “Classroom of the Elite” was unable to adapt the totality of its source material, as is common with anime adaptations. Because of this, viewers have yet to see the start of a second season. For now, it may seem doubtful that the show’s creators will continue the series, but they haven’t formally canceled it. The lack of information on “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 may make it difficult to get a sense of the show’s premise, cast, and possible release date, but this is not the case. The following is what we know thus far.
When will the Classroom of the Elite season 2 be released?
Although it has been four years since the show’s first season aired, it appears that the show’s animators (Studio Lerche) and its licensors (Funimation and Crunchyroll) have opted to obstinately remain mute on the show’s second season, despite repeated requests. Neither party has chosen to make any announcements, and it is not unreasonable to think that “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 is something that will just never come to fruition at this point in time. Still, the fact that there has been no comment on the matter at all gives fans reason to be optimistic.
If Lerche or the show’s licensors do eventually announce a new season of “Classroom of the Elite,” it could be nearly a year (if not longer) before the new season is made available to the public on DVD. According to a different post from Anime News Network, one of Lerche’s prior projects, “Assassination Classroom,” was unveiled in April 2015, and is now in development. The season itself did not premiere until January 2016, implying that the production of “Classroom of the Elite” will take at least as long (about eight months), if not longer, to finish.

Characters in Classroom of the Elite?
No anime series would be complete without a strong cast of characters, and “Classroom of the Elite” is no exception, with a diverse range of characters to choose from. In addition to the main character, Kiyotaka Ayanokji, who is voiced by Shouya Chiba in Japanese and Justin Briner in English (according to Myanimelist), “Classroom of the Elite” also includes a number of secondary characters. In particular, Suzune Horikita (Akari Kitou/Felecia Angelle) stands out as a soft-spoken yet clever student who finds herself in the academy’s lowest levels, where she rapidly becomes friends with Kiyotaka. A popular classmate of Suzune and Kiyotaka, Kikyou Kushida (Yurika Kubo/Sarah Wiedenheft), joins them in their efforts to become friends with all of her academic peers, particularly Suzune.
However, while many fans will likely be satisfied with simply viewing “Classroom of the Elite” in its original Japanese language, others who enjoy dubs will be pleased to know that the English dub for this show has traditionally been released in parallel with its Japanese counterpart. It is likely that this will continue to be the case if “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 is ever produced, and fans can look forward to it. As a whole, critical reception to the first season’s English dub has been positive, with a particular appreciation for Justin Briner’s performance as Kiyotaka (via Anime News Network).

What is the plot of Classroom of the Elite Season 2? What is the setting?
After completing the school’s “Lord of the Flies-style” survival test by correctly identifying the identity of each class’ leaders, Kiyotaka successfully completes the first season of “Classroom of the Elite.” In the aftermath of his victory, however, he discovers that his father has been actively working to have him ejected from the school since his arrival. It goes without saying that this is most likely connected to Kiyotaka’s unstated reason for enrolling at this particular school in the first place. No matter what happens, Kiyotaka decides to continue his studies at the university.
“Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 will, if it follows in the footsteps of the first season, be at least mostly loyal to the manga and light novel sources that served as inspiration. According to the show’s source material, the anime is light years ahead of the source material in terms of story progression, which means Lerche has a wealth of material to pull on while creating his own story. The audience is still in the dark as to what Kiyotaka’s motivation is for attending this competitive institution. He has also yet to genuinely get to the top of his class’s academic achievement, and it is unclear whether or not his father’s influence will have an impact on his ability to achieve that objective. These are all plot strands that Lerche is bound to pursue if it ever decides to produce “Classroom of the Elite” Season 2 in its current format.
