California Man Beaten Into The Ground In The Wake Of Focusing On Walkers With His Truck, Police Say

A Southern California driver evidently endeavoring to collide with walkers was pulled from his truck and pounded into the ground, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department says.

The tumult started early Saturday morning when the man was approached to leave Rock It Sports Lounge and Grill in Hawthorne, a city of 90,000 individuals 15 miles south of Los Angeles, the Sheriff’s Department said in an assertion.

The man left yet before long returned, driving his truck onto the walkway and almost striking a few clients, the assertion said. The driver then, at that point, failed to keep a grip on the truck and hit a tree.

“Surrounding patrons then attempted to take the driver out of his vehicle, but he accelerated and drove his truck into a nearby building,” the statement said. “Patrons again took the driver out of his vehicle, and a physical altercation ensued.”

Police then arrived on the scene.

“Hawthorne Police officers saw the driver lying on the ground, suffering what appeared to be blunt force trauma,” the statement said. “Paramedics provided life-saving measures, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.”

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office recognized the driver as Melguin Lopez Santos, 40, of Los Angeles. Lt. Hugo Reynaga of the sheriff’s specialty let the Daily Breeze know that Santos was kicked out of the business for being an aggravation. The occurrence was caught on grainy reconnaissance video, and the battle was to some extent clouded, Reynaga said.

“You could see there was a fight going on, but you couldn’t tell who was doing what,” he said.

Criminal investigators were hanging tight for the aftereffects of the post-mortem to see whether Santo might have experienced a clinical issue during the battle that prompted his passing, Reynaga said, adding that the accidents “weren’t that impactful.”

No captures had been made Sunday, yet four individuals associated with the battle are collaborating in the continuous examination, specialists said.
