The deaths of three people, including a child, who were found dead in a Brooklyn home on Tuesday night are still being looked into by state police.
The state police’s public information office says that at about 8:27 p.m., there was a report of a “suspicious incident” at a home on Middle Street, just over the town line between Killingly and Brooklyn. When they got there, they found and said that three people were dead.
Police said that their initial findings showed that the deaths seemed to be the result of a single event, but they did not immediately release any information about the victims, such as their names, ages, or causes of death.

In a message to staff and families sent out Wednesday morning, Brooklyn Superintendent Patricia Buell said that one of the victims was a child.
Buell wrote, noting staff and students would have access to counselors –
“The child is not a student of the Brooklyn Public Schools but our hearts break for their family and loved ones.”
“Please keep the family, neighbours, and first responders in your thoughts as we deal with this sad situation in Brooklyn.”
At 7 a.m. on Wednesday, there was still crime tape around the entrances to several multi-family homes on Middle Street, not far from where a state police crime van was parked.
People in white suits for collecting evidence could be seen going into a house on one end of a connected brick complex where school buses were stopping to pick up students.
Jen Gervais has lived a few doors down from the crime scene for about eight years. She said she left her house Tuesday night around 8:30 to get something to eat. She said –
“There were five or six police cars out in front, but without lights and sirens.”
“I didn’t hear anything unusual before that. This is a pretty quiet neighborhood, but I do keep to myself.”
The Eastern District Major Crime Squad is still looking into the case, according to the state police.
