Shawn and Angela Askew of Comanche, his sister Bella, and his grandparents, Bronco and Gayala Askew of Albany, and Danny and Janice Armstrong of Abilene, survive Boone.

His cousins Avery, Taos, Emma, and Levi are still living, as are his aunts and uncles Casey and Lindsey Armstrong of Borger, Texas, and J.W. Askew of Albany, Texas. Many of Boone’s extended family and friends are still alive.

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, after a celebration of life service at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene, the burial took place. In Boone’s memory, a memorial fund has been established. Boone was a remarkable individual. Knowing Boone was to cherish him, as he had never met an outsider or someone with whom he was apparently unable to converse. Nobody was ever claimed to have walked out on Boone without feeling better for having known him.

On November 18, 2004, Robert Boone Askew was born in Abilene, Texas, to Shawn and Angela Askew. Boone grew up in Albany and Comanche, Texas, where he participated in sports, played the violin, and displayed animals. From a young age, he was drawn to the cowboy way of life. To name a few, he worked at Guitars, 6666 Dixon Creek, Gibson Ranches, The Byrds, The Nail, The Spires, Big Creek, Turkey Tracks, The Crutch, The Sanford Ranch, Plemmons Land and Cattle, PICO Ranches, and the Bowers.

Boone spent time with Billy Lamb of Haskell, Texas, and worked on other small cattle operations from Texas to Tennessee. In every aspect, Boone embodies the concept of a cowboy. He was pleased that he had earned the respect of the people with whom he worked. His life experiences far transcend his time on Earth. He worked hard to live a full life, which included spending a lot of time riding horses, team roping with family, and hunting and fishing with his father.

Boone was also interested in machinery, and his father had taught him how to repair things that others couldn’t. Boone’s mother also taught him a number of valuable skills. Boone was much loved and admired. Boone has never met a stranger or someone with whom he couldn’t strike up a conversation. Nobody ever left Boone’s side without being a better person as a result of knowing him.

When the family moved to Comanche, Boone joined the youth group at First Baptist Church Comanche. During his time with the youth group, Boone realized his need for atonement and the realization that we are lost without a saviour.

Boone made the most important decision of his life on December 23, 2018, when he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as his saviour. Boone was a committed member of his family as well as a devoted follower of Christ. He was quite proud of his younger sister Bella, who had followed in his Christian footsteps and was very dedicated to his family’s younger members.
