During the Wisconsin Holiday Parade over 20 people were struck by an S.U.V near Milwaukee, and out of them the Officials confirmed that 5 have died. The celebratory night, where people from all age groups including school children and elderly had gathered along the Main Street a speeding vehicle broke down the barricades and rammed into the crowd.
The frenzied people were running helter-skelter, and over 40 people were injured in the incident. The authorities have not yet shared any specific reason behind the action of the driver. The Mayor of the area, Shawn Reilly speaking to the media said, “Today our community faced horror and tragedy in what should have been a community celebration,” and also expressed grief, “I’m deeply saddened to know that so many in our community went to a parade but ended up dealing with injury and heartache.”
The President has been notified of the incident, and has been in touch with the hospitals catering the matter. An official spoke to the media, “The White House is closely monitoring the situation in Waukesha and our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by this terrible incident,” he said. “We have reached out to state and local officials to offer any support and assistance as needed.”
The Police Chief described his priority in the incident for now being contacting the next kin of the deceased, and informing them of the tragic mishap. Many Senators and lawmakers took to social media to express their grief and offer condolences to the loved ones of the victims.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin, a Wisconsin Democrat, tweeted Sunday, “The horrific violence at the Waukesha Christmas Parade is just heartbreaking. Please keep the victims in your prayers tonight.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York tweeted, “We’re praying for the victims of horrific violence at the Waukesha Christmas Parade.”
While many of them also expressed gratitude towards the law enforcement agencies, and the medical officers at work, who were catering the victims, trying to preserve life and restore the situation to normalcy.

Many of those attending event are grief stricken and expressed horror of how sudden the incident took place. Recalling the incident, 14 year old parade participant Mikey Randa said, “The car just flew past us, there was a lot of panic,” Within few minutes the boy said, he then saw five or six bodies lying on the ground. “I’m still in a bit of a shock”.
