Here you will read about why Bay Area Rock canceled three gigs due to unanticipated surgery. Unfortunately for John Fogerty devotees, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will not be performing this week. The Mountain Winery in Saratoga on August 18, Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln on August 19, and the Nugget Event Center in Reno on August 20 have all been canceled due to the absence of the singer-songwriter-guitarist, who rose to fame in the 1960s as the leader of El Cerrito’s Creedence Clearwater Revival.
According to a news release, the rock star called off the concerts because he had to get emergency eye surgery. “Scheduling conflicts, unfortunately, prevented us from rescheduling these shows,” the statement read. All tickets will be refunded. All of the shows, beginning with the one in Indianapolis on September 3, will go on as planned.
The concerts were slated, to begin with, Hearty Har, which features Fogerty’s kids Shane and Tyler. Both of the children are active members of their dad’s band.
A set of Creedence Clearwater Revival standards, including “Suzie Q,” “Born on the Bayou,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” “Lodi,” and “Run Through the Jungle,” was enthusiastically welcomed at Fogerty’s last performance at the Mountain Winery in 2021.
