On January 18, 2021, a missing person report was filed for a woman from Port Moody who was 48 years old. A few of months later, her body was discovered in Hope, British Columbia. The suffering endured by the family of a woman from Port Moody, whose body was discovered in Hope a few of months after she was reported missing, has now reached the point where it has lasted for two years.
Trina Hunt’s husband made the report that she was missing to the Port Moody police on the 18th of January, 2021. Trina Hunt’s husband made the report that she was missing to the Port Moody police on the 18th of January, 2021.
The 48-year-old woman, who authorities believed at the time had failed to return home from a stroll in the neighbourhood, was the subject of a search conducted by the police, as well as by family members and locals of Port Moody.
The following month, in March of that same year, detectives discovered what they suspected to be her remains near Hope, which is located south of Silver Creek.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team made the determination a few days later that the remains were indeed those of Hunt. IHIT made a request to the general public for assistance with its investigation on Wednesday, which marked the passing of the two-year anniversary of the day she was reported missing.
According to the IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, the organization is still investigating the matter as a possible homicide. On Wednesday, investigators distributed a message from Hunt’s brother, in which the brother expressed gratitude to the public for their support.
“It is very unfortunate that it has been two years since our beloved Trina was reported missing and was subsequently found dead in Hope, British Columbia. This trip has been extraordinarily challenging for us, with never-ending waves of grief, anguish, and trauma periodically enveloping us at various points along the way. According to what Brad Ibbott said in the statement, “Nothing about our journey has been easy.”
“We really wish that Trina was aware of all of the support that has been shown to her over the past two years. Trina would feel embarrassed and shy (in all honesty, quite a bit! ), but she would also be really grateful for all of the love that she has received. We would like to extend our gratitude to you for your continuous supportive comments. Your kindness has in a very real way made it easier for us to deal with.”

A Facebook page that was created at the time of Hunt’s disappearance in order to assist in locating her also included Ibbott’s remark as one of its posts. IHIT acknowledged in June that an arrest had been made in connection with the investigation, but no one was charged. As a consequence of this, the individual’s name was not disclosed.
During that month, IHIT investigators went to two different homes as part of their investigation into her death. They cordoned off and searched both Hunt’s home in the Heritage Woods neighborhood of Port Moody as well as a dwelling in Mission that belonged to the parents of Hunt’s spouse, Iain, who is currently serving in the military.
There have been no charges brought forward. The family of Hunt is providing a reward of up to fifty thousand dollars for any new information that leads to criminal proceedings.
IHIT is requesting that anyone with information who has not yet spoken to the police contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or send an email to ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. You can also call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
Hunt was last seen on January 18, 2021, at her residence in Heritage Woods, and her husband reported her missing on that same day. He informed the authorities that the last time he saw her was about six in the morning at their residence, right before he left for work.
