When police picked up Clenney, she was leaving a rehabilitation center in Hawaii where she was receiving treatment for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder, according to her lawyer.

Prieto told the tabloid, “I’m completely startled, especially because we were helping with the inquiry and offering to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged.” We anticipate successfully clearing her name in court.

More than four months after authorities restarted their investigation into the fatal stabbing, the model was finally arrested. After an argument on April 3 at their posh Edgewater, Miami, apartment building, Clenney, who has 2 million of followers on Instagram, is said to have stabbed Obumseil in the chest.

The lawyer for Clenney says she was acting in self-defense when Obumseil assaulted her after weeks of stalking. Prieto claimed that Instagram famous Obumseil grabbed the Instagram star by the throat, forcing her to stab him.

Less than two years into their relationship, the couple had grown distant, according to the lawyer. We received a video of the aftermath of the battle, which showed Clenney handcuffed and covered in blood while wearing a bra.

The Herald reports that the couple had been living together in the apartment complex for a number of months before the management attempted to evict them due to several domestic confrontations.

Obumseli’s family attorney, Larry Handfield, urged authorities to resume their probe. He claimed police had been to the house at least four times in response to domestic complaints but that Obumseli had never been arrested or formally charged with any wrongdoing.

Clenney was reportedly wanted for public intoxication in California in 2015, although Handfield underlined that he was not arrested despite an outstanding warrant. At the time of the murder, Clenney was apparently scheduled to appear in a Texas court on a DUI charge dating back to 2020.

The model reportedly spent time in a psychiatric institution after claiming to be suicidal following the murder of Obumseli.
