Last Month Senator Ted Cruz was the speaker at an A&M event, where he was asked by a member of the audience, about seceding of Texas from the federation, also called ‘Texit’. He replied that even though he understands the sentiment behind it, it isn’t an imminent likelihood that things may go down that way.
He jokingly added, that in a scenario where “Democrats end the filibuster, if they fundamentally destroy the country, if they pack the Supreme Court if they make DC a state, if they federalize elections, if they massively expand voter fraud, there may come a point where it’s hopeless,”, such an event may come to light.
“We’re not there yet, and if there comes a point where it’s hopeless, then I think we take NASA, we take the military, we take the oil,” he spoke. As a senator elected under the Constitution he further articulated, “I think Texas has a responsibility to the country, and I’m not ready to give up on America. I love this country,”
Keeping the conversation light-hearted, he rubbed an elbow towards Joe Rogan, stating that in case such an event does happen, the conservative podcaster could have a shot at being the President of the independent state. Joe Rogan had only last year made a move to Austin, for which the Senator had extended a celebratory welcome.

Joe Rogan has made no public comments yet on the response, on the matter yet.
Even though the answer took another direction, there is momentum being built up for posting the question on the ballot in 2022 Spring, to consider “Texit” as a possibility. They have been raising awareness, asking for donations, and asking people to sign the petition.
