The producer of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe Amy Pascal talked about the idea for another trilogy with Holland as he would return to the role in a fourth Spider-Man movie and subsequently others that would follow it. However, the people from the studio assert that there is nothing official about securing Holland for another trilogy involving Spider-Man and their future is uncertain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with Fandom, Holland when asked about it said, “You know, there is a future Spider-Man- whether I’m a part of it, I don’t know”.

“It’s been an incredible journey so far and if it’s time for me to hang up the cape and let the next person take over, I will do that proudly knowing that I’ve achieved everything that I wanted to in this world.”

He further added: “And when I say this world I mean the MCU, I don’t mean ‘this world’ like in the actual world. So yeah, I feel pretty good about the future of Spider-Man, and I’m happy to let someone else don the suit, but I also would love to squeeze back into that spandex again.”

When asked about his character Peter Parker’s fate after No Way Home and next, Holland gave a funny reply, “There is one idea that I have, that I have pitched to the studio — but by telling you that idea I’d be ruining [No Way Home] so I’m going to have to keep that one for myself.”

Holland talks about the villains he faces in the film and his latest release

After battles with villains the Vulture played by Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Mysterio played by Jake Gyllenhaal in Spider-Man: Far From Home and beating them and joining Iron-Man and Doctor Strange, it is interestingly curious to wonder who might be the next character to appear in the MCU’s Spider-Man.

Holland, mentioning Madame Web who is a psychic clairvoyant known for her tangled web in the comics, said, “I think there are some interesting villains. I think Madame Web could be something that is really interesting and we could do it in our own way.”

Holland named the common enemy of Spider-Man and Daredevil as the upcoming villain: the Kingpin. He added,” I’d really like to come up against Wilson Fisk.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is all set to hit the theatres on December 17 with an ensemble cast having Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

Sony and Marvel’s plans about the future course of Spider-Man

Moreover, the CEO of Sony Pictures Tom Rothman has described that the collaboration between Sony and Marvel will have one more crossover by the MCU where the character of Spider-Man played by Tom Holland would be there and he would be in the same realm as the other characters of Marvel.

However, he went on to add that they did not have any proper planning about his character, “It’s reciprocal. We lend one [character], then they lend one [character], and that’s how Benedict Cumberbatch is in the movie, so we have one more lend back that is committed.”
