Chen is a skilled martial artist who has won numerous gold medals and world championships. The athlete is Grandmaster William C.C. Chen’s daughter, who was raised in a kung-fu family.
“I never practised tai chi to look to fight. I learned the form, I learned some push hands, and then I started competing in push hands,” Chen — who entered her first push hands competition at age 16 — told Inside Kung-Fu.
When she was 26 years old, in February 2011, she was named the year’s top competitor and entered the martial arts magazine’s Hall of Fame. “My plan has always been to learn how to be as great as my father,” she told.
Despite primarily focusing on martial arts, Chen’s interest in the activity stems from her early training in dance, including ballet and hula. Her biography is on her website; she started swimming and gymnastics when she was five.
Chen began figure skating at the age of eight, and at eleven, he took home three gold medals in a regional tournament. She started ballroom dancing lessons to hone her craft but soon realized that tai chi was the key to refining her form.
Where Do They Meet First?
The couple fueled relationship suspicions in August 2021 when they were seen holding hands while on vacation in the South of France. As they descended to a lavish yacht and joined a group of friends, they could be seen walking side by side.

They were kissing aboard the boat. De Niro’s millionaire business partner, James Packer, owned the opulent ship.
The last time Chen and De Niro were seen together was in March 2023 when they left Santa Monica’s Giorgio Baldi restaurant. Photos obtained by Daily Mail show them dining with Harvey Keitel and Billy Crystal, who was also seen with them.
To a witness at Giorgio Baldi, the party “had a long weekday dinner” and stayed until near closing time at the restaurant.
“Robert and Tiffany sat next to each other. He is a regular at the restaurant and knew to order his favourites. They looked happy together,” The witness said. They said about De Niro, “He was attentive and sweet to her.”
With De Niro, She Gave Birth to a Girl
The seventh child of De Niro was born on April 6, 2023. During a sit-down interview with ET Canada, he shared the joyful news while discussing parenting and his film About My Father. The actor didn’t say with whom he welcomed his seventh child, but his costar Cattrall soon confirmed it was Chen.
On May 11, De Niro revealed additional information about his unborn child to Gayle King on CBS Mornings, along with the first image of his daughter, Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, on a Twitter post. King said the couple is “over the moon” about welcoming the new baby into their family.

The couple made a rare public appearance together at the Vanity Fair x Prada party at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in France after welcoming their daughter in May, where they were captured holding hands. The two went out for the Tribeca Film Festival’s opening night the following month.
