The first time a superhero film has been nominated for Best Picture. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s trailer premiered at Comic-Con International in 2022, and the film’s release date has been widely speculated about since then.

Who Could Be The New Black Panther In Wakanda Forever?
T’Challa will never be recast, according to Marvel Studios. Rather, the Black Panther moniker can be passed down to the next generation of heroes.
As Black Panther in the original film, Chadwick Boseman portrayed the role of the superhero. However, Boseman died in 2020 at the age of 43 from colon cancer. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, has announced that T’Challa’s story is ended and the Black Panther title will be passed on, according to Vanity Fair.
On February 8, 2018, Chadwick Boseman attended the European premiere of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” in London, England. T’Challa, the Black Panther, is legendary and transcends any other rendition of the character from any other media in Marvel’s history. His performance by Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther is really unforgettable.” The character will not be cast again because of this.”
Asked if the franchise would continue after Boseman’s death, he said, “To commemorate the legacy that Chad helped us construct with his portrayal of both the King of Wakanda, we wanted to carry on exploring that realm.”
As reported by The Direct, Disney’s official press statement reveals that T’Challa is dead in the sequel. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s summary states “In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje strive to safeguard their nation from interfering world forces in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. “

In Wakanda Forever, Is Shuri The Next Black Panther In Line?
Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, may be the new Black Panther, according to rumors. T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri, is the princess of Wakanda.
As ‘No Woman No Cry’ plays in the background, we see Shuri and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) grieving the loss of T’Challa. The New Black Panther is depicted releasing their claws as the soundtrack switches to ‘Alright’ by Kendrick Lamar. Fans believe it’s Shuri, despite the fact that their face is obscured because she takes up the role of Black Panther when T’Challa is injured in the comics.
One Twitter user posted images from the new Black Panther teaser, juxtaposed against images of Shuri. “Shuri is clearly taking the role of the Black Panther,” they wrote in the tweet. This “absolutely” would happen, according to the poster.

Is Nakia Capable Of Becoming The Next Black Panther In Wakanda?
With Lupita Nyong’o’s portrayal of Nakia, there is conjecture that she could be the next Black Panther. Nakia, also known as Malice in the comics, is one of Black Panther’s fiercest adversaries in the Marvel Universe.
Nakia was once one of T’Challa’s most loyal comrades and a member of Wakanda’s ‘Dora Milaje’ (which translates to ‘Adored Ones’). However, as her love for him deepened, she transformed into a ruthless foe who was privy to all of his darkest secrets. Wakanda spies on the former lover of T’Challa in the film, Nakia. At the beginning of the first film, Nakia is fighting for enslaved Nigerian women.
Even though Nakia’s role as the next Black Panther is less certain, there are a lot of fans who are eager to see this happen. “If Nakia picks up the Black Panther mantle, I *will* start hyperventilating at the theatre from pure excitement,” one Twitter user commented.
Could Okoye Be Wakanda’s Next Black Panther?
Okoye, played by Danai Gurira, is another contender for the role of the next Black Panther. Fans believe that Okoye, not T’Challa’s sister Shuri, is the ideal choice to succeed T’Challa as Black Panther because she is the head of the Dora Milaje.
Okoye possesses the innate talent required for the title as one of the best fighters Wakanda has ever seen and a member of the king’s guard. It has been stated that Okoye, who is neither related nor a previous lover, has the slimmest possibility of being crowned because the role has traditionally been passed down through blood relations.
Readers overwhelmingly chose Shuri to be the next Black Panther when IGN asked on Twitter (opens in new tab) who they believed should be the superhero’s future leader. Shuri and Nakia received the most votes out of the more than 1200 that were cast. Okoye didn’t get a lot of votes, which made her the biggest wild card in the competition.
