Reviews
As one of America’s most popular reality shows, “Joe Millionaire” is a household name. Joe, an Illinois construction worker in search of love, appeared on a reality show. It’s a lot like The Bachelor in that respect. The fact that it is based on actual events intrigues me, and that intrigues me greatly.
Millionaire Season 2 Plot
The Villa Oliva in Tuscany served as the setting for the second instalment, which followed the same premise but was set in Northern and Central Italy. David Smith, a 24-year-old cowboy from Midland, Texas, was hired to replace Marriott, who had earned only $11,000 in the previous year as a rodeo cowboy. This season’s cast included 14 English-speaking European women from countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden. A group of European women interacting with American men on an island somewhere was what the women were told by Fox casting agents during the process of casting.
One contestant, Czech Republic’s Linda Kazdová, was brought back after she had eliminated herself and was later selected by Smith as the show’s winning candidate. However, the show’s popularity had dwindled to the point where no further seasons could be produced.
Kazdová awarded $250,000 and Smith has given a Texas ranch instead of a million dollars as Andrich and Marriott had in the first show. Post-show interaction between Smith and Kazdová short-lived. As they separated by distance shortly after the show aired, as was the case in the first episode. There were less than 7 million viewers each week for The Next Joe Millionaire and a season finale that only attracted 9 million viewers.
