During the Intel Innovation Keynote on September 27, 2022, the 13th-Gen Raptor Lake chips were shown off. These chips compete with AMD’s 7000-series chips and are faster than the 12th-Gen CPUs, which were already fast. Raptor Lake’s launch lineup includes six chips: the mainstream Intel i5-13600K, the performance Intel i7-13700K, the enthusiast-level Intel i9-13900K, and their respective KF versions without onboard graphics.

Exactly How Much Does it Set You Back to Buy A Raptor, Lake Chip?
Except for the standard i5-13600K, the prices of Intel’s 13th-Generation central processing units are the same as those of their 12th-Generation equivalents. The retail price of this chip is $319 (or $294 for the KF variant), which is $30 more than the price of the i5-12600K, which is $289.

On the other hand, the i7-13700K can be purchased for $409 (the KF version sells for $384), while the i9-13900K can be purchased for $589 (the KF model sells for $564). Because these costs are nearly identical to those of their 12th-Generation counterparts, the 13700K and 13900K are excellent choices in terms of value for money.
Even though the 13th-Gen processors have the same base TDP as their equivalents from the previous generation, the requirements for their turbo power are higher. Therefore, if you don’t have much headroom with your present power supply unit (PSU), you should think about upgrading your power supply from the get-go; don’t wait until you get indicators that your computer needs a PSU upgrade to decide to upgrade it.
When Will The 13th-generation Intel Core Processor Be Available?
You don’t have to wait long if you want to replace your 12th-Gen CPU with the latest Raptor Lake version. On October 20, 2022, you’ll be able to buy these six 13th-Gen chips. This is less than a month after Intel announced them.

Are You Happy About Getting More Power?
Even though the Raptor Lake chips aren’t as revolutionary as the 12th-Generation Intel processors, they are still good additions to a line of processors that was already very good. Some of these are supported for PCIe Gen 5.0 and compatibility with DDR4.
Intel also says that the 13th-generation chips are much more efficient than the Alder Lake CPUs. They said that a 13900K running at 125W is just as good as a 12900K running at 241W on turbo.
All of these are great pieces of news, but until we get our hands on both the 13th-Generation Intel chips and the AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, we can only go by benchmarks that were made in a lab. When both CPUs come out, we can’t wait to test them out and see what the future holds for computers in 2023 and beyond.
