Muniz began his career in motorsports in 2004, when he competed as a celebrity in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, finishing seventh. He finished third the following year and was the best-finishing celebrity after capitalising on Ingo Rademacher and Aaron Peirsol’s final lap contact.
