Drake Early Life
Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Canada, on October 24, 1986. Dennis, Drake’s dad, was a drummer who used to play with musicians like Jerry Lee Lewis. Sandra, who Drake called “Sandi,” was Drake’s mother. She taught English and worked as a florist. Drake went to a Jewish day school and had a big party for his Bar Mitzvah.
When Aubrey was five, Sandi and Dennis split up. His father then moved to Memphis, where he was arrested on drug charges and sent to prison for several years. Aubrey stayed with his mother in Toronto, but every summer, he went to see his father in Memphis (when his father was not incarcerated).

Drake would later say that Dennis was never around when he was a child. Dennis has vehemently denied these claims and said they were made to sell records. Drake and his mom lived in the bottom half of a two-story townhouse in Forest Hill, a wealthy suburb, from sixth grade.
Drake lived in the basement while his mother lived on the main floor. They didn’t have much money, and things were tight. Drake found that he liked acting and singing at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute. He later went to Vaughan Road Academy, where he was picked on because he was of mixed race and religion. He quit school for a while, but he did finish in 2012.
Drake Career
In 2006, Aubrey, who was now going by his middle name “Drake” as his stage name, started putting out mixtapes. He was inspired by rap stars like Jay-Z, who got record deals after becoming successful as independent artists.
In February 2005, he put out his first mixtape, “Room for Improvement,” on his official website and MySpace page. He sold more than 6,000 copies of the book himself. The following year, he put out his second mixtape, called “Comeback Season.” He put out the mixtape on his label, October’s Very Own, which he had just started (aka OVO Records).
“Replacement Girl,” a song on this mixtape that became a hit underground, was on it. The music video for the song was the first time BET showed a video by an unsigned Canadian rapper. In one version of the song, a part of the song “Man of the Year” by Brisco, Flo Rida, and Lil Wayne was cut and pasted into it.
Jas Prince, who runs Rap-A-Lot Records and is based in Houston, heard the song and gave it to Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne was impressed, so he called Drake and asked him to join his Tha Carter III tour in Houston. As the tour went on, Drake and Wayne wrote and recorded several songs, including “Brand New,” “Forever,” and “Ransom.”
Drake Personal Life
Drake has been with several well-known people over the years. Between 2009 and 2016, he was on and off with Rihanna. He would later say about Rihana, “She’s the woman I’ve loved since I was 22.” In October 2017, Adonis was born to a French model, actress, and artist named Sophie Brussaux. Drake didn’t say that he was a dad until 2018.

Drake Net Worth
Drake has an estimated net worth of $1 million. He had signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money a few months before. By 2012, he was worth more than $25 million.
He had over $45 million by 2014. Late in 2016, he became the first person to make more than $80 million. Because he made almost $100 million in 2017, it was easy for him to reach $100 million by early 2018. In May 2019, his net worth went over $150 million for the first time. As of now, his net worth is $250 million.
YM Entertainment
Even though you might think so, Drake had not yet signed with Wayne’s record label. In 2009, he put out his third mixtape, “So Far Gone.” He put the mixtape on his OVO website so people could download it for free. Lil Wayne, Lloyd, Trey Songz, Omarian, and Bun B all had songs on the mixtape.
The mixtape was downloaded 2,000 times in its first hour. In the end, the RIAA gave it a Gold rating and peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The mixtape was eventually turned into an EP, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 and won the 2010 Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year.
Drake was still a solo artist in high demand in the music business. There was a bidding war, and many labels tried to sign him. People have said that the bidding war is the biggest in music history, but this is not true.
Drake signed a deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment on June 29, 2009. Young Money and Cash Money, the parent company of Young Money, worked together with Universal Music to make the record deal.
