Blood and Water Season 4: When it premiered on Netflix in 2020, the South African TV show Blood & Water created a cult following and became a binge-worthy sensation. In 2021, season two increased the shock level, and the just-published third season even increased the stakes.
If you’d want a refresher, the teen drama centers on Cape Town teen Puleng Khumalo, who is determined to show that Pankhurst College’s star swimmer Fikele Bhele is actually Phumelele Khumalo, her long-lost sister who was kidnapped at birth 17 years prior. Throughout season three, the sisters were surrounded by secrets, riddles, and blood.
Blood and Water Season 4 Release Date
Although Netflix has not yet confirmed if the program will return for a second season, there is currently no need to be alarmed. Its return is based on ratings, just like the majority of Netflix programs. So, dear reader, it’s up to you to settle in and click “next episode.”

If season four gets the green light, we’re probably looking at a release in the winter of 2023, which could potentially be stretched into the first half of 2024. Everything relies on when that important renewal announcement is made.
Blood and Water Season 4 Cast
It’s safe to assume that Ama Qamata and Khosi Ngema will reprise their roles as Puleng and Fikile, respectively, in season four because Blood & Water just wouldn’t work without its star sister team. Who will be a part of them, though? Most of the following should be expected:
• Thabang Molaba as Karabo ‘KB’ Molapo
• Dillon Windvogel as Wade Daniels
• Greteli Fincham as Reece van Rensburg
• Arno Greeff as Chris Ackerman
• Mekaila Mathys as Tahira Kahn
• Natasha Thahane as Wendy Dlamini
• Katishka Kiara as Pauline
• Odwa Gwanya as Siya Khumalo
Even though Puleng’s father Julius (Getmore Sithole) passed away in a car accident, there is always a chance that he will appear in flashbacks.
Blood and Water Season 4 Plot
The season three finale essentially tied up all the loose ends. Puleng physically jumped ship and got away, Fikile received a liver transplant from her biological father and lived to see another day, and Sam was located and reunited with his mother, Janet. After Lisbeth was detained while attempting to exit the country, the human trafficking organization also made plans to close the cell she oversaw.
Of course, nothing is ever that simple. The ring commanders of the operation revealed that there are further cells dispersed throughout the city in the climactic moments of the episode. On one of the computer screens, a picture of Sam unconscious is also displayed for us.

Sam will likely play a significant role in both becoming a target of and dismantling the trafficking ring once and for all in season four because it appears that there was more to Sam’s abduction than first appears to be the case.
