We have learned that Warner Bros. has canceled the cinematic adaption of DC Comics character “Batgirl” Film. It won’t air on any of the studio’s platforms, not even in theatres or on HBO Max.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the filmmakers behind the “Bad Boys for Life” and “Ms. Marvel” films, were hired by Warner Bros. to direct the picture, which stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl). As a result, “Batgirl” does not have a legitimate home at Warner Bros. Discovery because of the company’s new corporate structure.

The studio has also decided to shelve “Scoob!: Holiday Haunt,” a sequel to the 2020 feature “Scoob! “. In December 2021, a sizzle reel for HBO Max featured footage from the animated “Scooby-Doo” series. According to reports, Warner Bros. spent $40 million on the production.
To put it another way, “Batgirl” was canceled by Warner Bros. for a variety of reasons. “Batgirl,” according to studio insiders, was not axed because of the quality of the film or the commitment of the filmmakers, but rather because of the goal of the studio to have a blockbuster slate of DC films.
The budget for “Batgirl” was set for limited theatrical distribution in the United States on HBO Max, not a wide release around the world. CoVID delays and regulations contributed to the project’s production budget rising from its initial $75 million estimate to $90 million, which is currently in post-production.

As if it wasn’t bad enough, “Batgirl” was also a fairly large film. Michael Keaton returns as Batman, as does J.K. Simmons as Barbara’s father, Jim Gordon, and J.K. Simmons reprises his role from “The Flash.” Actor Brendan Fraser portrays a villain named Firefly, and Grace revealed to Variety in April that she and El Arbi, and Fallah have had preliminary negotiations for a sequel.

This movie has a lot of odd stuff in it, as Grace stated. This biker girl is going to do a lot of badassery, so be prepared. Many hard days were spent on it, but it was well worth it. It was first reported that Warner Bros. had decided not to distribute “Batgirl” by the New York Post.
